Project Brave Kids’ Christmas Party

Every year since 2005, our organization Project Brave Kids, hosts a Christmas party for about 150 children plus a parent. It has always been a celebration of blessings, family and of life! It is an occasion where we continue to encourage the kids to stay positive and keep up the fight against cancer. Difficult as it is for adults, what more for children even as young as infants! Yes… in the past, we have had patients as young as 5 months old! Not enough could be said about the painful procedures they undergo without any anaesthesia and which they repeatedly do over many months or years.

As painful as it it for the kids, it is also as painful for the parents who have had to stand witness to the daily struggle their own child undergoes.. wishing every moment that they – instead of their child – take on the pain. Their situation is further compounded by the fact that some, if not most, families have to give up their work to personally attend to their child. This reduces their dual-income earning homes to single-earning ones. They experience sleepless nights worrying about how to manage costs of treatment and balancing the needs of their other children. There are so many challenges these families face and it would be so tempting to just throw in the towel and give up.

But there is grace and there is life. And because of this and the courageous attitude these kids have, we are inspired to celebrate whatever little blessings we have received! Gratitude is something we can never have enough of.

So this December 15 (Saturday), we continue our tradition to celebrate life and blessings. Join us and help put smiles on the faces of the children. We accept donations in cash and in kind to help make this possible for them. It is – after all – the season for giving and sharing!
